Russian and US Objectives in Syria Worlds Apart

Russian aerial operations are smashing terrorists in Syria. Washington supports them, massacring civilians instead, along with destroying vital infrastructure.

Over the 10-day September 19 – 29 period, Russian warplanes killed over 2,350 US-supported ISIS and al-Nusra terrorists, according to its Defense Ministry spokesman General Igor Konashenkov.

Offensives by al-Nusra fighters in Syria's east and west were smashed.

Syrian and allied forces, greatly aided by Russian airpower, "encircle(d) and destroy(ed) a big (ISIS) grouping, which had invaded from Iraq," Konashenkov explained. 

ISIS and al-Nusra terrorists "suffered their biggest losses in recent months. The successful actions of the Syrian military were supported by armed formations, which had joined the reconciliation process in Aleppo, Homs and al-Qunei
