Intelligence and Security Committee Chairman Condemns Criticism of Secret Services

‘Sir’ Malcolm Rifkind, chairman of the parliamentary appointed Intelligence and Security Committee which ‘oversees’ the British secret services, appeared live on Channel 4 News last Friday to address concerns surrounding the collection of public mobile communications data by GCHQ as well as U.S. intelligence services.

Instead of attempting to put viewers minds at rest and answer Krishnan Guru-Murthy’s questions however, the Jewish Conservative MP launched a clearly premeditated attack on the newsreader and the accusation that the behaviour of the secret services is unlawful, sweepingly defending them like his life depended on it while¬†patronisingly pointing his finger throughout.

‘Sir’ Malcolms stern-faced stance is hardly surprising though, considering that he is also a Queens Council jurist, member of the Privy Council and Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George. It’s good to know the spooks are being legitimately overseen by such unbiased, accomplished and ‘honourable’ peers.
